Bradley Hughes Following the tragedy at Grenfell in June 2017, the Government instructed the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, which was led by Dame Judith Hackitt. This report was published in May 2018. In December 2018, the Government accepted all 53 of the report’s recommendations. Many of these recommendations are being put into place in the Fire Safety Bill and the draft Building Safety Bill. The report highlights the importance of landlords talking with residents about building safety. Bradley’s Role:

  • To help, work with and speak with residents to make sure the building is, and continues to be, safe.
  • Show residents the ways they can be involved with building safety and what it can mean to them. 
  • Give residents with the information they want and need about buildiing safety. This includes the fire safety systems and how and when they're checked on. 
  • Make the above information available to residents in different ways, such as emails or a resident meeting group.
  • Look at ways of making it easier to speak with us about the safety of their homes, including through different members of staff. 
  • Make clear ours and our residents’ responsibilities to ensure their homes remain safe.
  • Work with the Resident Voice and Influence Panel for different viewpoints and ideas.
