Right To Acquire
Some of our properties were built on or after 1st April 1997 with the assistance of Government funding. If you live in one of these properties you may be able to purchase your home under the Government's Right to Acquire scheme. You may also be eligible for a discount of up to £16,000 on the market value of the property - as long as you don't sell within five years you won't have to pay any of it back. You need to have a secure or assured tenancy and have been a tenant of a public sector landlord for three complete years.
How to Apply
If you would like further information and think that you may be eligible for the Right to Acquire and would like to apply, you will need to complete an application form known as RTA1. You can do this by clicking on the link below which will take you to the Government website:
Once you have completed the form, please return it to:
Sales and Marketing Department
Estuary Housing Association
8th/9th Floors Maitland House

Alternatively drop an email to email@example.com and we'll confirm whether you have the Right to Acquire and, if you are eligible, explain the next steps in buying your home.
If, however, you are a Estuary resident with a tenancy transferred from the council, please see https://righttobuy.gov.uk/am-i-eligible/housing-association-tenants/
