Leaseholder Repairs and Improvements To Your Home

You have a full repairing lease, which means all repairs that need to be carried out in your house must be undertaken and paid for by you. Those leaseholders living in flats will pay a sum within their service charge that will be used for communal repairs, such as a new roof, but they maintain responsibility inside their flat.

You are also responsible for ensuring your gas appliances and boiler are serviced annually. It is essential to ensure this is a priority and the work is carried out as a faulty gas appliance may emit carbon dioxide fumes that can kill. 

Improving your home – you have the right to carry out improvements to your home provided that you receive written permission from us. We will not unreasonably withhold permission. Estuary will not benefit from any increase in the value of your property which is a direct result of improvements you have made to your home.
